The FL, FS, and FHS series SAE split flange clamps are engineered for heavy-duty hydraulic piping systems requiring flexible installation in confined spaces. Designed in strict accordance with SAE J518 and ISO 6162 standards, these two-piece split flange halving clamps allow easy assembly and maintenance without disconnecting or cutting existing hydraulic lines. They provide a high-pressure, leak-free connection for hydraulic pumps, motors, and high-flow oil lines in demanding industrial and mobile equipment applications.
Two-Piece Split Design: Simplifies installation and retrofitting in restricted spaces where full-ring flanges cannot be slipped over pipe ends.
Dual Pressure Classes: Available in Standard Duty Code 61 (3000 PSI series) and Heavy Duty Code 62 (6000 PSI series) to match diverse operating pressures.
High-Strength Forged Steel Construction: Precision forged from C45 carbon steel or 316L stainless steel, offering exceptional fracture toughness under extreme pressure surges.
Enhanced Corrosion Protection: Standard surface treatment features Cr3+ trivalent zinc plating, delivering over 350+ hours of neutral salt spray resistance (ASTM B117) against white rust.
Vibration & Shock Resistance: Engineered bolt-hole tolerances ensure uniform clamping force distribution across the flange head face, preventing O-ring extrusion under continuous hydraulic pulsation.
FL / FS / FHS split flange clamps are specifically optimized for high-vibration, high-volume hydraulic circuits where conventional threaded connections are prone to loosening or fatigue failure.
Marine & Offshore Environments: For coastal cranes, marine winches, and port machinery exposed to harsh salt fog, we recommend ordering the Zinc-Nickel (Zn-Ni) coating or AISI 316L stainless steel variant to ensure long-term corrosion immunity.
Mining & Earthmoving Equipment: Ideal for excavator main pumps, hydraulic breakers, and underground mining haulers operating under severe mechanical shock and continuous pressure spikes up to 420 bar.
High-Temperature & Cold Climate Operations: Paired with specialized FKM seals or low-temperature impact-resistant steel alloys, these clamps retain clamping integrity in temperatures ranging from arctic cold zones down to -40°C up to high-ambient steel mill automation lines.
A: Code 61 flanges are designed for standard-pressure applications up to 3,000 PSI (210 bar), whereas Code 62 flanges feature thicker material dimensions and closer bolt hole spacings to withstand high-pressure requirements up to 6,000 PSI (420 bar). They are not dimensionally interchangeable.
A: Split flange clamps (two halves) offer significant installation advantages in tight spaces. They can be wrapped around the flange head of a pre-bent tube or hose assembly without sliding over long pipe lengths, making replacement and maintenance much faster in the field.
A: We offer both standalone split flange halves and complete kit packages (including 4 high-tensile 10.9 grade bolts, spring washers, and NBR or FKM O-rings). Please specify your preference when requesting a quote.
A: Bolts should be tightened evenly in a cross-diagonal sequence to ensure uniform clamping pressure across the O-ring face. Avoid fully tightening one bolt at a time, as this can cause the flange half to tilt and ruin the face seal alignment.
